At Qount Accounting, we believe that accounting is more than compliance, it’s a foundation for business growth, resilence, and investor confidence.

Qount Accounting was founded by Maxwell Mqondisi Hlongwane, CA(SA), a Chartered Accountant and Registered Tax Practitioner (PR-0116118), who worked with leading development finance institutions such as the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) and the National Empowerment Fund (NEF).

During his time at these institutions, Maxwell observed that many small and medium sized enterprises (SME’s) were failing to access funding, not because their ideas lacked merit, but because; The financial records were unreliable or incomplete, their business models were not properly formulated, they had weak internal controls that hindered accountability.

He also noticed that even after receiving funding, many businesses struggled to provide accurate post investment financial reports, leading to compliance issues and missed growth opportunities.

From these insights, Qount Accounting was established in 2018, later formalised as a full time professional practice in 2023, with a mission to bridge the gap between funding institutions and entrepreneurs, by helping businesses become funding ready, compliant and sustainable.
